Tupelo
Press – Tom Sterner ~I am in a “marathon”
starting tomorrow, May 1st with nine other poets, writing a poem every day, and
raising funds for Tupelo Press. ~Blessings of Phaedra~Yesterday there was
something in my soup. I believe it loved me. The prayer I said over it was
beautiful. You are woman, you are my hope, my dream, then I killed and ate the
damned thing. ~WordWulf~

~Magic Fingers of Love~“Catch me
Daddy! Catch me if you can!” Always good for the chase, he dashed after them,
those beautiful boys and girls.

Quodlibet - Tom (WordWulf) Sterner http://wordwulf.com/QUODLIBET ~X: Daughters and Daddies~One of those moments, specific and undeniable, fearsomely wonderful, ageless wisdom attained, unexpected and unprepared. Definitive experiential knowledge, the first time he peers into the awesome depths of her eyes. The most beautiful woman I knew, pale circus when compared to you. ~WordWulf~

~Farewell Captain Charlie~You’re
beautiful today; I’ve never seen you cry. Saturday mornings weren’t meant for
cold, cold goodbyes. Wouldn’t life be simple if everyone were you. We’d never
have to wonder what to do or not to do.

~Absence of V~ Geese seldom appear one at a time, if memory serves me right. An
old bird hunter told me that. Hold your fire, never shoot the first goose. The
flock won’t follow a leader down. You take your birds out back to front. He was
a man who knew about such things. ~WordWulf~

~Cats’ Eyes~My brothers and I were ashamed and afraid, living in the West
Denver Housing Projects in the sixties. The taunting of turf bullies was bad
enough but our fear came from a deeper place. We were dirty white trash, poorer
than the people there. ~WordWulf~

Earth~“We need food,” Wulf said. “After Earth is stocked with stores to last
one hundred years at full capacity,” Vera reported. “Space food?” Wulf asked.
“Dried up and powdered?” “No flesh,” Vera replied, understanding his questions
completely. “A perfect balance of nutrients to fuel the human body, allowing it
to function at maximum efficiency.”

two fingers missing and a head full of rain.
